Obituary of Stanley Allen Oliver

Stanley Allen Oliver, age 75, passed away at his home on April 5, 2024. Stan was born in Princeton, KY on February 15, 1949 to Luther D. and Mary Katherine Oliver. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Princeton, Kentucky, where he occasionally played the piano on Sundays.

He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he earned his Masters degree in Social Work. He was a Captain in the United States Army. He then retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs following 33 years of dedicated service.

Stan has always loved spending quality time with his family - camping, attending his sons’ sporting events, and even giving whitewater rafting a try. One of the boys’ fondest memories is riding in the back of their dad‘s pick up truck through New Harmony State Park. They were his pride and joy. That pride and joy grew even more when he was blessed to become Papa to his beautiful grandchildren. He enjoyed history, traveling, gardening, fishing, and Tennessee and South Carolina football.

Stan is survived by his wife, Kelley Jane Oliver; sons; Kyle Carlton (Kelsey) Oliver and Alexander Carter Oliver; grandson, Noah Keith Oliver; granddaughter, Charlie Kay Oliver; brother, Michael (Debbie) Oliver; sister, Lisa (Jeff) Bradford; his son, Aaron Townsend and daughter, Emily Cunningham.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Jane Owen (Terry) Crawford. Brother-in-law, Brett (Audra) Murphy; sister-in-law, Shannan (Bruce) Miller; sister-in-law, Courtnay (Jason) Williams and in addition to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
