Mrs. Marie Nemec, 89, of Lexington died May 20, 2010. A pubic memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Sat. June 12, 2010 at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, 1205 Old Cherokee Rd., Lexington.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

 

 Mrs. Marie Caroline Nemec 89, passed away Thurs. May 20, 2010 at Lexington Extended Care.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Frederic and Christine Grohs.  She attended Olney High School and Drexel Evening School and then worked as an executive secretary for Clifton Precision and later Litton Industries for 45 years.  She was co-owner of Wirthmore Products , Inc. with her 1st late husband.  Marie had an ever-optimistic outlook on life and always saw the good in people, which served as an example for many who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband; Clifford Wirth Sr., second husband; George Nemec, a sister; Sophie Ellis and daughter; Susan Wirth.

She is survived by her sister; Cristina Powell, CA, a son; Clifford Wirth (Cristi), Coatepec, Mexico, a daughter; Christine Nelson (Jeffrey) Lexington, SC, and beloved grandson Alan Nelson, Lexington, SC.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.   A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to Carolina Wildlife Care, 5551 Bush River Rd. Columbia, SC 29212.

Entry: Please accept my deep sympathy on the death of Marie. She was a good friend whom I knew for all too few years--first at Deepwood and then as she moved to Lexington Extended Care. Since I live at Scarlet Oaks, across the street from Deepwood, I would visit with Marie frequently. She always had a postive outlook on things.
