Henry E. Dew, 74, of Montmorenci, entered into rest on Friday February 26, 2010. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11am.A private interment, with military honors will take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Trinity Hospice, 2803 Wrightsboro Rd. Augusta, GA 30909-3994 or to the Charlie Norwod VA Medical Center, 950 15th St. Augusta, GA 30912.South Carolina Cremation & Burial Society, honored providers of Veterans Funeral Careä is assisting the family.
He was born in Conway, SC to E. Gary and Lucille Edge Dew and was a long-time resident of Montmorenci. Mr. Dew served in the US Army & National Guard. He retired from Owens-Corning with over thirty years of service. He was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci, where he had served as a deacon for many years. He was also a founding member of the Montmorenci Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Dew is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-seven years, Shirley Dew, a son, Kenneth (Renee) Dew, New Zealand; three daughters, Joyce (David) Brady, Aiken, Kathy (Danny) Temples, Aiken and Beverly (John) Stephenson, Lexington, SC, a brother, Bobby (Nora) Dew, Vancouver, WA; a sister, Hazel Corzine, Charlotte, NC and a special nephew, Fred (Jane) McKellar, Dalzell, SC. Among his greatest enjoyment was his time spent with his twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great- great grandson.
