Entry: So sad to hear about Michele's passing. Please take comfort in the joy she has given to so many. I knew her in my early twenties, and Sammy Rose when she was a baby. I admired Michele for her generosity, her kindness, intellectual curiosity. She also told wonderful stories -- and shared with me a great gift. I was about to move to Vermont, and she told me to make sure on a sunny, snow-on-the-ground day, to look behind into my footprints, and that I would see the beautiful, most clear and happy blue color in the world. I have thought of that often -- snowy or not! I hope Michele is residing in that peaceful and beautiful blue, with the legacy of two children to immortalize her.
